Uptown's Contemporary Urban Classic... The 7 Stories and 30 Luxury Condominiums of The Montane

The Montane Stories
Recently, we asked Homeowners at The Montane what they thought
of their building, and why they chose to live here. The answers brought
out the real beauty of this address; the classic architecture, the enduring
value of the extensive finishes and commercial construction, and the
appreciation of a very private, quiet and elegant building in State Thomas.
.

Here's what our homeowners said:

On Their Search:
"I limited my search to two zip codes. I knew I wanted to live in either 75219
or 75204 because of the prestige, the young professionals in the area, and
the access to the arts, the restaurants and downtown."

"We looked for a long time, and we weren't really looking in this part of Uptown,
but we saw ads for the building and the private elevators and knew this was a
value we needed to see."

"I looked for about a year and was very selective. When I walked in here saw the
French decor in the lobby and the design of the one-bedroom floor plan I had to
have it. I had a contract at the Plaza and had seriously looked at The Mayfair.
I dropped my contract at The Plaza and immediately bought here."

"Truthfully I saw myself as living more in Turtle Creek than Uptown. I thought of
myself in a taller building, but I found lots of smaller spaces in the newer buildings,
and many of the older buildings didn't have much going for them. This was an
intimate building with big floorplans."

What Captured Their Attention:
When I saw this building, I immediately thought of New York, because the exterior
feels many of the classic buildings. It reminded me of something you would see in
the Murray Hill or the Upper East Side in New York.

It isn't The W or Mayfair, the units are so large and I feel like it has so much
integrity ... built like it could last forever.

"My wife saw the his and her bathrooms in the master and said "We have to buy this.'"

"This building is like a classic Chanel bag. It's not for everyone but those who know it love it."

On Their Selection of Residence:
"The interiors are so immaculate, and I especially loved the one bedroom. I also
like the service entrance which I call the "butler's entrance." I share a vestibule
with a very wealthy family who bought here to be closer to their grandson. They
have 2 or 3 other homes, and they chose to live here. There's another couple that
lived in the Sear's Tower for 25 years and they bought here."

"These flats are so uniquely laid out. The multiple fireplaces, some even in the dining
rooms, the molding and granite made me think of Paris immediately.
I have traveled extensively and if you've been to Europe you recognize elements of
that here. When you look out in Paris and see the apartment stacks and get a feel for
the city, that's part of the loveliness of the property."

"The finish out is amazing with the the granite backsplash, the wine chiller, and gas
cook top. It's an open floorplan and the everything from the molding, to the hardware,
to the granite and hardwoods is really well done."

"The kitchen is really large for a condominium and it feels like a big house. "

On The Building Design:
"I don't know where else you can get a building like this. The private elevators, the
location and the cost per foot"

"I don't know anywhere you can have a private elevator for anywhere near this price.
You don't even need a key with the key fobs. "

"You don't ever have to see a neighbor unless you want to. It's so different from other
buildings where you would have to valet, come in the lobby, wait for an elevator, go
down a hallway to your door. If you're carrying groceries can you imagine the hassle?
I don't even need a key. I just wave the fob and everything opens up. I get in and out
effortlessly. It's more like a big home that way than a condo."

"I have never seen anyone on the elevator, it is very private, and very quiet."

About The Neighborhood:
"You can stay the whole weekend and never get in a car. And you won't miss a thing."

"Of course I get out in the neighborhood, and that's not something people typically do
in Dallas. Unless you live in Highland Park and walk over to Highland Park Village to
shop or eat, people don't walk. Here, if I need fresh flowers, my coffee, my dry cleaning,
the newspaper stand or even some curry. It takes no more than 5 minutes to get anywhere.
From Avanti to the beautiful cobblestones on McKinney, to the Crescent, the Capital Grille,
it's all a short walk away."

Everything is very convenient. I'm an attorney and I office both at home and in Fort Worth,
but I have courts in Plano, in Dallas and in Fort Worth, but I am never stuck in a long
commute or too much traffic. For my lifestyle, living here is a blessing because i don't
have to sit on the tollway or North Central."

On The Price:
"No question this is the best deal going. You can look anywhere else and easily pay
$100 more a foot for a similar level of finish."

"This building is no different than leasing in Paris or living on the Upper East Side in
New York except that if you wanted to duplicate this environment there you'd pay $3-4 million."

"It's hard to believe this is in Dallas where high prices equal prestige. This place feel rich
and exclusive and the owners all know it"
